Before the birds start nesting

With the bitter cold weather and snow fall of the last couple of weeks it’s been difficult to get much done. The ground has been frozen solid and hiding for the most part beneath at least a couple of inches of snow.

I did take the opportunity however to get our large conifer hedge cut. This either needs to be completed before the 1st March or left until the end of August to avoid disturbing nesting birds. We usually get at least a dozen nests of various species in there each summer.

That’s it done for 2021.
